Canton has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Sayre Redskins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Thursday, Canton came up short against the Indians and fell 42-32.
Despite their loss, Canton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ben Fitch, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Fitch has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Talin Williams was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten rebounds and five blocks.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but Sayre had to settle for a 44-41 loss against the Panthers on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Sayre can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 541st, while the Panthers are ranked 267th).
Canton's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Sayre, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Canton took a serious blow against the Redskins in their previous matchup back in January, falling 55-25. Can Canton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
