The Alpine Bucks waltzed into their match on Friday with ten straight wins but they left with 11. They skirted past Kermit 67-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Kermit lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zeke Espino, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Saenz, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Alpine is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. As for Kermit, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-12.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Presidio the next time they take the court. Kermit will head out to face Presidio at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Alpine will head out to face them at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
