Big Foot is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Turner is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Chiefs will welcome the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Foot is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Big Foot didn't have quite enough to beat Evansville and fell 4-3.
Holly Kynell was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Lily Wolf made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.
Meanwhile, Turner earned a 7-3 victory over Waupun on Saturday.
Maddyn Saunders spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, Maddy Hoenig was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Autumn Meris, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Big Foot has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Turner, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Big Foot hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Turner struggles in that department as they've averaged .330. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Big Foot couldn't quite finish off Turner when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can the Chiefs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
