Basketball Recap: Rome Free Academy Piles Up the Points Against Whitesboro

There's no place like home for Rome Free Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Whitesboro Warriors 84-39. The Black Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 25 points or more this season.

Rome Free Academy found their leader in freshman Taniyah Outten, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Outten has scored all season. Isabella Cunningham was another key player, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards.

Rome Free Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive matches.

Rome Free Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Whitesboro, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Rome Free Academy will host Christian Brothers Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rome Free Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last six games. Whitesboro has already played their next contest (against South Jefferson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
