Kearney (Mo.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Cole Davis thew a touchdown to
Dillon Britt with less than a minute remaining, bringing the team to victory over
Winnetonka (Kansas City, Mo.) 35-28.
The Bulldogs expanded their lead to six points entering the fourth quarter. Kearney's lone score in the quarter came on a field goal by
Dylan Weir.
KHS's standout player in the win was Davis. He threw three touchdowns. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
The Griffins came in giving up 17.4 points per game this season. Winnetonka struggled against the Bulldogs, which came in averaging 34.8 points per game.
Kearney also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 15-7.
