Wildwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kayla Lyde, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. What's more, Lyde also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Zoey Brown was another key player, going 7 of 17 en route to 15 points and five steals.
Wildwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Chiefland had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Bronson 56-21 on Tuesday. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 22 points or more this season.
Chiefland found their leader in sophomore Nyasia Bivins, who posted 24 points in addition to eight boards and eight steals. Bivins has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Bell, who earned ten points and eight steals.
Chiefland's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Wildwood, they pushed their record up to 19-0 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Wildwood against Chiefland in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 72-18 win. Does Wildwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chiefland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
