Basketball Game Preview: North Baltimore Tigers vs. Upper Scioto Valley Rams

The North Baltimore Tigers will take on the Upper Scioto Valley Rams in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Baltimore is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, North Baltimore beat Ottawa Hills 50-44.

North Baltimore found their leader in sophomore Lacie Allison, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and ten rebounds. Allison's evening made it 30 games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josselyn Paynter, who posted eight points and eight boards.

North Baltimore smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 57 points the game before, Upper Scioto Valley was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They were beaten by Pandora-Gilboa 54-17. The contest marked the Rams' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

North Baltimore will have to contain Layla Hunsicker as she made an impact in Upper Scioto Valley's last game. She put up eight points and three steals.

Upper Scioto Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for North Baltimore, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.

This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: North Baltimore hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 55.6 points per game. It's a different story for Upper Scioto Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 29.7 points. The only thing between North Baltimore and another offensive beatdown is the Rams. Will they be able to keep them contained?

North Baltimore beat Upper Scioto Valley 63-55 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
