Softball Recap: Midlothian Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Midlothian had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Chaparral Bobcats as they made off with a 13-4 win. Considering the Panthers have won 17 games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Austyn Pena looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Robledo, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniyah Givens, who went 1-for-5 with one home run and three RBI.

Midlothian pushed their record up to 22-8-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Chaparral, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Midlothian nor Chaparral have any future games scheduled.
