The Chaparral Firebirds will be playing at home against the Desert Mountain Wolves at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Both teams come into the  game bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 On Wednesday, Chaparral faced Casteel in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Chaparral came out on top against Casteel by a score of  8-4. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Chaparral.
  Chris Newstrom was  incredible,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with a  home run, three  RBI,  and a  double. The team also got some help courtesy of  Diego Chavez, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Desert Mountain got themselves on the board against Mountain Pointe on Wednesday, but Mountain Pointe never followed suit. They had just enough and edged the Pride out  1-0.
 Desert Mountain also got a great performance from  Brody James as he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only two  hits while striking out seven over 5.1 innings pitched.
 Chaparral is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record  this season. As for Desert Mountain, they now  have a winning record of 6-5.
 Chaparral took their  win against Desert Mountain  in their previous matchup  back in March of 2023 by a conclusive  7-0. Does  Chaparral have another victory up their sleeve, or will Desert Mountain turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
