Basketball Recap: Hurricane's Win Ends 13-Game Losing Streak on the Road

The third road game was the charm for Hurricane, as they earned their first road win of the season. They snuck past the Mountain Crest Mustangs with a 68-64 victory on Friday. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 60-42 win the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hurricane to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brigham Kemp, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Calan Hughes, who went 7 of 10 en route to 14 points and eight rebounds.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trey Cooper, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 20 points. The dominant performance gave Cooper a new career-high in points. Parker Andrus was another key player, putting up 12 points, to go along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Hurricane's victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2. As for Mountain Crest, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Hurricane wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-62 defeat against Ridgeline on the 7th. Mountain Crest has also already played their next match, a 53-47 loss against Twin Falls on the 7th.
