Even though the Ridgeland Panthers have not done well against the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Ridgeland walked away with a 77-69 win over Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Ridgeland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was John Hill out in front who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was Hill's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Baldwin, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds.
Ridgeland's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ridgeland will take on Coahulla Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, they will be playing at home against Adairsville at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
