Baseball Recap: Cherokee Christian Comes Up Short

Cherokee Christian came into this matchup off a tough six-run defeat last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Horizon Christian Academy by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Cherokee Christian has suffered since May 3, 2024.

Alex Hayes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cherokee Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Goodwin, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
