North Royalton is 1-9 against the Grizzlies since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The North Royalton Bears will head out on the road to take on the Wadsworth Grizzlies at 1:00 p.m. North Royalton has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 27.
Last Friday, North Royalton came up short against the Explorers and fell 51-41.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brooklyn Gambino, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Avery Keitlen was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, in a tight match that could have gone either way, Wadsworth made off with a 27-26 win over the Blue Streaks. The win was all the more spectacular given Wadsworth's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Blue Streaks are ranked eighth).
North Royalton's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-15. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.8 points per game. As for Wadsworth, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
North Royalton was taken down by the Grizzlies 53-26 when the teams last played back in January. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point North Royalton was down 29-7.
