Olivia Watson made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Lydia Schwagmeier and Gabrielle Patrick did most of the damage at the plate: Schwagmeier went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Patrick went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Schwagmeier also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tarran Mills, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.
Shenandoah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .531. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Cambridge City Lincoln didn't have quite enough to beat Knightstown on Thursday and fell 12-11. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Addyson Pitcock made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Reilynn Ferguson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Shenandoah pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Cambridge City Lincoln's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Shenandoah has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Cambridge City Lincoln, though, as they've been averaging 10.8 hits. Given Shenandoah's sizable advantage in that area, the Golden Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
Shenandoah took their win against Cambridge City Lincoln in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 11-2 score. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
