Oil City moved up to 323 from 426 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in District 10 Region 5 AAA. The Oilers were able to make the jump by besting Titusville 35-21.
DuBois was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in the league. The Beavers defeated Brookville 52-13 earlier in the week.
DuBois' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Gabe French threw for 352 and five touchdowns and Bryson Paulinellie had 125 yards receiving. On the ground Garrett Brown chipped in 91 yards. Jared Baummer helped DuBois' passing attack out by catching four balls for 86 yards.
DuBois' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Beavers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. French has thrown for 1170 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Paulinellie has 22 catches for 428 yards. Brown leads the league in rushing with 937 yards.
The top two teams in District 10 Region 5 AAA will face off this week when first place DuBois takes on second place Warren. Last week, Frank Varischetti's team defeated the Raiders, while Warren bested Corry.
The Beavers' Brown is a mere 63 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
There should be lots of points scored when Warren and DuBois face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Brad Wright's team comes in having scored 287 this season, while the Beavers have scored 321. The Dragons scored 35 points last week as they bested the Beavers.
