The Hartley Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Texline, falling 83-33. While losing is never fun, Hartley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1532nd, while Texline is ranked 317th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Texline to victory, but perhaps none more so than Collin Alston, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten steals. Rett Wann was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with three steals.
Hartley has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Texline, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 27-4.
Hartley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Texline's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lubbock Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 16th.
