There's no place like home for the Commerce Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Saturday. They breezed by Towns County at home to the tune of 53-25. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Commerce has managed all season.
Commerce's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malay L miitchell, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which L miitchell has scored at least 25% of Commerce's points. Jayla Collins was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds and six steals.
Commerce's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Towns County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Commerce will be home for the holidays to greet Banks County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Towns County, they will head out on the road to face off against Aquinas at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Aquinas has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
