Softball Recap: Fox Creek Extends Winning Streak to Five

Fox Creek had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Silver Bluff Bulldogs a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Predators, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Fox Creek let Ava Lindsay and Hannah Andrews run wild. Lindsay went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Andrews scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Karter Wood, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Fox Creek pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Silver Bluff, they moved to 7-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Fox Creek will take on South Aiken at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Predators are facing the Thoroughbreds at the right time seeing as the Thoroughbreds are stuck on a four-game losing streak. Silver Bluff will be paying especially close attention to Fox Creek's game: after Fox Creek faces off against South Aiken, they'll take on Silver Bluff again at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
