Life Christian Academy was handed a 55-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Specially Fit Academy on Thursday. Life Christian Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-57 victory over Specially Fit Academy. The win was all the more spectacular given Life Christian Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 643rd, while Specially Fit Academy is ranked 230th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Life Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dan Morales, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Jaden Dinzey, who scored 15 points.
Oasis Christian's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9. Life Christian Academy's record now sits at 2-14.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's matchup: Oasis Christian have been dynamite from deep this season, having only drained 30.5% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Life Christian Academy, though, as they've only made 3.13% of their threes per game this season. Given Oasis Christian's sizeable advantage in that area, Life Christian Academy will need to find a way to close that gap.
Oasis Christian might still be hurting after the 76-52 defeat they got from Life Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2020.
