The Westfield Shamrocks had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 24-12 win over Noblesville on Friday. Winning may never get old, but Westfield sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Jackson Gilbert threw for 115 yards on 12 of 18 attempts. Max Nosler was his top target, picking up 39 receiving yards.
Westfield's victory was their seventh straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 10-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-8 Avon and 3-7 Zionsville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 42.6% over those games). As for Noblesville, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Westfield will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hamilton Southeastern at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Hamilton Southeastern is ranked eighth, while Westfield is ranked fifth). Noblesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
