Woods Cross and Box Elder are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Bees at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Woods Cross' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups.
Woods Cross is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Bonneville with a sharp 16-1 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Beckham Stanger made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Woods Cross got a massive performance out of Max Moffat, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Moffat is becoming a predictor of the Wildcats' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Camden Olsen also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Woods Cross kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Box Elder came into Wednesday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Roy on Wednesday.
The team relied heavily on Korbin Jeppesen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Bryson Wight, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Woods Cross has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Box Elder, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-10.
Woods Cross came out on top in a nail-biter against Box Elder when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bees turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
