The biggest upset of the week belonged to Marlington, who took down 100th ranked Marlington, 34-13. Kordelle Phillips threw for 187 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 12 yards in the win.
Josh Lyon and Deonte Settles provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Louisville. The connection went for 88 yards, the longest such play in Northeastern Buckeye this season.
Minerva's dynamic duo of Josey Riley and Cody Parrish proved tough for Carrollton to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Riley threw for 319 yards and four touchdowns and Parrish had 184 yards receiving. Billy Eyer helped Minerva's passing attack out by catching five balls for 57 yards.
Settles was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 135 yards on 20 carries as Canton South fell to the Warriors. Lyon also contributed to the rushing game with 29 yards on the ground.
5-foot-8 quarterback Phillips of Alliance is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2026. He has also thrown 17 touchdowns. On the ground, the Wildcats' Settles has rushed for 922 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Noah Mallen. The Canton South star has 61 catches for 1037 yards.
So far this year, Lyon has thrown for 1913 yards with 20 touchdowns and two interceptions.
The Aviators extended the longest winning streak in Northeastern Buckeye this week by beating the Dukes, 34-13. The win marks fourth in a row for the Alliance.
