Puyallup has won six straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Rogers has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Vikings will welcome the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Puyallup's victory against South Kitsap wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Wolves on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Jaycee Kemp spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Puyallup's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Paityn Calapp, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Puyallup hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Kitsap struck out 16 times.
Meanwhile, Rogers got the win against Emerald Ridge on Thursday by a conclusive 18-2.
Sierra Murray (2028) made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Murray (2028) was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Rogers got a massive performance out of Kennedy Thompson (2028), who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Ava Rossmeier (2027) was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Puyallup's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Rogers, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Puyallup hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Rogers struggles in that department as they've averaged .355. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Puyallup beat Rogers 3-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
