The Dixon Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Havelock Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Dixon's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
Dixon took a loss when they played away from home back in September, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 46-30 win over Swansboro. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won three in a row.

JJ Gulat had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 343 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.4 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 12th straight game with at least 103 rushing yards dating back to last season. Sean Delaney was another key back, rushing for 90 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Dixon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 583 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last matchup, Havelock made sure to put some points up on the board against West Carteret on Friday. The Rams blew past the Patriots 48-14. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-7.
Dixon better keep an eye on Jayden Howard. He was instrumental in Havelock's win, rushing for 218 yards and four scores while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Howard is becoming a predictor of the Rams' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 0-4 when he doesn't).
Havelock didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Khimani Nolan, Andrew WIlliams, and Jacob Vasquez picked up one apiece. Nolan got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Havelock picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Dixon, their record now sits at 5-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Dixon has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 506.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Havelock struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 172.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Dixon took a serious blow against Havelock in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 62-0. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
