While Mildred put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Cayuga. The Mildred Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Cayuga Wildcats 2-0. The two-run effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Mildred has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. Cayuga's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. As for Cayuga, they will face off against Cross Roads at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cayuga is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
