The Middleton Vikings entered their tilt with the Eagle Mustangs with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. Middleton was the clear victor by a 57-37 margin over Eagle. Middleton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Middleton's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zoey Blackwell, who scored 16 points along with four steals. Blackwell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Laci Eagy, who scored six points along with two steals.
Eagle's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mary (molly) johnson, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals, and Berkley Jones who scored 12 points.
Middleton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Eagle, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.
Middleton will look to defend their home court on Monday against Capital at 7:30 p.m. Capital will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Middleton is ranked ninth). As for Eagle, they will head out on the road to take on Kuna at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
