Mivieon Franklin Ross' Big Game Leads Sam Houston over Lanier
Starting off the list is Sam Houston's Mivieon Franklin Ross, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Franklin Ross rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 170 yards and two touchdowns.
The win (which was Sam Houston's third in a row) raised their record to 4-3. Franklin Ross and Sam Houston will square off against Burbank at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Highlands' probably not too fond of Hernandez given he always seems to get the better of them. When Hernandez last faced the Owls back in September of 2023, he threw for 143 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.

Benito Maldonado Rounds Out Top Five
Rounding off our Top Five is Benito Maldonado of Highlands. Maldonado forced two fumbles, made six total tackles, and defended a pass.
Highlands is on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7. Maldonado will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against Jefferson on Thursday.
