After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pontotoc, the Houston Hilltoppers were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They blew past Bruce 56-32. The result was nothing new for Houston, who have now won three games by 24 points or more so far this season.
Despite the defeat, Bruce saw an underclassman step up: Laken Corbitt scored 20 points along with 7 rebounds. The match was Corbitt's third in a row with at least ten points.
Houston has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Bruce, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
Houston won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Calhoun City at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. Calhoun City is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Bruce, they will take on Walnut at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Walnut will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
