Basketball Recap: Leipsic Sets Scoring Season-High Against Vanlue

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leipsic). They came out on top against the Vanlue Wildcats on Thursday by a score of 45-26 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Candace Saltzman, who posted three points and eight rebounds. Saltzman has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times she's played.

Leipsic's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13. As for Vanlue, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Leipsic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 68-12 loss against Ottoville on the 1st. Vanlue has also already played their next contest, a 60-32 win against Waite on the 1st.
