With a playoff game on the line, the Southern Lab Kittens rose to the challenge on Friday. They managed a 38-34 win over the Eagles. The win was familiar territory for Southern Lab who now have ten in a row.
Despite the defeat, Ouachita Christian saw an underclassman step up: Luke Vidrine threw for 256 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Zachary White was another key contributor, gaining 96 total yards and a touchdown.
Southern Lab pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.0 points per game. As for Ouachita Christian, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-2.
Southern Lab will take on Riverside Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 9th. Riverside Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 11 games. Ouachita Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
