It was a good run, but the Collinsville Cardinals unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 64-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Booker T. Washington. While losing is never fun, Collinsville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Booker T. Washington is ranked 17th).
Jamarri Simpson was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points for Booker T. Washington. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Simpson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Joc Mitchell, who scored 12 points.
Collinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Booker T. Washington, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Collinsville and Skiatook will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
