District play begins in the majority of Texas this week while some states are still waiting for first pitch.
Lake Creek (Montgomery, Texas) looks very impressive to start the season and remain at No. 5 in this week's MaxPreps Top 25 national softball rankings.
Florida commit
Ava Brown is 11-0 in the circle and has allowed 17 hits in over 65 innings pitched, while fanning 144 batters.
Bullard (Texas) is another Lone Star State team with a flawless record after 15 games. The Lady Panthers have outscored their opponents 164-to-15 to start 2022. They join
West Monroe (La.) and
Hartselle (Ala.) as new teams joining this week's rankings.
Results and games played are key factors for determining the MaxPreps Top 25 softball rankings and movement throughout the season. No team who has yet to play a game will move down or up from their preseason ranking until they hit the dirt.
Teams that do not enter results and statistical information to MaxPreps make forming the rankings and highlighting players much more difficult.
