The Valencia Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Belen Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Valencia, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-44 loss to the Hornets. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Valencia in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now lost seven in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Diego Baeza, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. It was the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorge Zuniga, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Belen's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 81-62 fall against Grants. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Valencia has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Belen, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-13.
Everything came up roses for Valencia against the Eagles when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 67-37 victory. Does Valencia have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
