Hilliard Bradley had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They snuck past Westerville North with a 27-22 victory on Friday. Given Hilliard Bradley's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Westerville North is ranked 121st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bradyn Fleharty continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 135 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 191 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Pickerington North didn't have too much trouble with Hilliard Darby at home on Friday as they won 35-16. Pickerington North pushed the score to 28-3 by the end of the third, a deficit Hilliard Darby cut but never quite recovered from.
Michael Taylor was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon O'connell, who threw for 186 yards and three touchdowns.
Hilliard Bradley's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Pickerington North, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
