Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the West Columbus Vikings, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were outmatched by the Vikings on the road and fell 49-12. West Columbus' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Although West Columbus took the loss, they still got scores from Unique Kelly and Jaylen Bellamy.
Tarboro's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caiden Everette, who rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Another player making a difference was Mason Satterfield, who rushed for 56 yards and three touchdowns.
West Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Tarboro, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with that win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.
West Columbus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tarboro will square off against Mount Airy at 7:00 p.m. on December 9th. Mount Airy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 761 points over their last 14 matchups.
