Softball Recap: Skyline Sets Scoring Season-High Against Jackson

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Skyline). Everything went their way against the Jackson Vikings on Wednesday as they made off with a 24-9 win. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 7.8 runs per game.

Skyline got a massive performance out of Abby Yuan, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. With that strong performance, Yuan is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Camryn Murray was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs.

Skyline kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Skyline's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Jackson, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Skyline and Jackson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Eagles will take on Monroe at 4:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (328 vs. 111). Meanwhile, Jackson (ranked 459th) will meet Tecumseh (ranked 175th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
