Heritage is 1-8 against the Golden Eagles since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Heritage Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Heritage is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
Heritage struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Wolverines had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Heritage's rough 66-45 loss to the Wolverines might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Heritage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Wolverines are ranked seventh).
Heritage's defeat came about despite a quality game from Tanner Terch, who scored ten points. Logan Hause was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Mountain Vista earned a 67-54 win over the Jaguars on Friday.
Mountain Vista's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Oliver Junker led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Junker hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Cal Baskind, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Heritage has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Mountain Vista, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.
Heritage was taken down by the Golden Eagles 76-42 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Heritage was down 39-11.
