GV Christian had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out the Sandy Valley Sidewinders  9-7. The  win was a breath of fresh air for the Guardians as it put an end to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.
 Wake Rowling and  Christopher Oxhorn did most of the damage at the plate:  Rowling  scored four  runs and  stole  Three bases. while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances, while  Oxhorn  went a perfect 3-for-3 with four  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ethan Cootware, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.

 GV Christian  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .636. The last time their  OBP was this high was  back in April of 2024.
 Coming up, GV Christian will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Pinecrest Academy Cadence  at 3:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Sandy Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the  loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Indian Springs at 1:00  p.m.  on April 11th.
