Ross Fickling made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bunker Hill is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise. Fickling was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braydon Marlowe, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Canipe, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Lincolnton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 23-4 to Maiden.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bunker Hill has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lincolnton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Bunker Hill was able to grind out a solid win over Lincolnton in their previous meeting on March 4th, winning 8-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bunker Hill since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
