Elkhart is a perfect 5-0 against South Bend Adams since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Elkhart is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Mishawaka Marian to the tune of 59-14 on Friday. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Lions had established a 31-point advantage.

It was another big night for Micah Jarrell, who rushed for 134 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries, and also threw for 168 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Elkhart is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. Alfonzo Newbern was in the mix too, providing the Lions with two TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Elkhart was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 254 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 172 rushing yards in six consecutive contests.
Elkhart didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Cole Bell, Josiah Gladden, Keyon MacNeal, and Matt Alshahrani picked up one apiece. Alshahrani has been hot recently, having also posted at least one defended passe the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, South Bend Adams had just enough and edged out South Bend Riley 10-8 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Elkhart better keep an eye on Carson Bryce. He was instrumental in South Bend Adams' win, rushing for 129 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to South Bend Adams' defense and their seven sacks. Leading the way was Lamarr Shaw with 2.5. Franklin Passwater was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks and making 16 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Elkhart's record is now 5-3. As for South Bend Adams, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

It's a different story for South Bend Adams, though, as they've been averaging only 214.8 total yards.
