After a string of six wins, the Bangor Cardinals's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 48-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Aquinas. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bangor has scored all season.
Aquinas' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Samantha Davis led the charge by scoring 15 points. Davis has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 14 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Murphy, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Bangor's loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-2. As for Aquinas, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bangor will face off against Royall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Aquinas, they will head out on the road to face off against Tomah at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Tomah has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
