The West Washington Senators were the 62-47 winner over the Rock Creek Academy Lions when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. West Washington fell just short of Rock Creek Academy by a score of 48-46. West Washington just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
West Washington lost on Monday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jayla Batt, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. The game was Batt's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lilly Thompson, who scored ten points along with five assists and four steals.
West Washington bumped their record down to 10-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Rock Creek Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Washington will take on Crawford County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rock Creek Academy, they will play host again and welcome Brownstown Central, where tip off is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
