Eliza Alford was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Lemming, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Bishop Brossart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against St. Ursula Academy, falling 12-1. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Walton-Verona's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Bearcats have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Bishop Brossart, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Walton-Verona continue to outrun the ball?
Walton-Verona took their win against Bishop Brossart in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-6 score. Will the Bearcats repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
