The Lake Havasu Knights will square off against the Lee Williams Volunteers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Havasu is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
Lake Havasu barely beat Verrado the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went Lake Havasu's way against Verrado on Saturday as Lake Havasu made off with a 16-1 win. The Knights have beaten the Vipers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Vipers has come to flipping the script.
Landen Nigg looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024.
At the plate, Brock Cross was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024. Carson Lockman was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Lake Havasu always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Verrado only posted an OBP of .158.
Meanwhile, Lee Williams came up short against Pahrump Valley on Saturday and fell 6-3. The Volunteers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lee Williams also got a good showing from Cain Massey, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
On the hitting side, Lee Williams saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gaven Kolar, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Lincoln Lewandowski also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Lake Havasu's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Lee Williams, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Lake Havasu has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Lee Williams struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lake Havasu took their win against Lee Williams in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0. Will Lake Havasu repeat their success, or does Lee Williams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
