Baseball Recap: Laguardia Wins Going Away Against Environmental

Laguardia waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over the Environmental Eagles. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for Laguardia this season.

JESSY McCOY made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, RIKI EKUNI was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was DANIEL LOMBARDO, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Laguardia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Laguardia's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Environmental, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Laguardia will be playing in front of their home fans against Douglass Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Environmental, they will square off against Collaborative Education at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
