The Millard South Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Westview Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Westview will be up against a hot Millard South squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Millard South blew past Creighton Prep 13-3 on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Patriots have won by exactly ten runs.

Tyler Albert looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Jaxson Appuhn was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 3.2 RBI per game. Blake McAndrews also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Millard South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Creighton Prep only posted an OBP of .407.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westview). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Benson a 22-0 shutout on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Wolverines with their most commanding win of the season.
William Mobley and Ty Simms made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Mobley tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Simms tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Mobley went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Simms scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kevin Rempe, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Blake Smith was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Westview pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Millard South, their record now sits at 5-0.
Millard South took their victory against Westview in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 11-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Millard South since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
