Twentynine Palms is 2-7 against Coachella Valley since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Friday. The Wildcats will host the Mighty Arabs  at 7:00  p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  the two teams posted some lofty  point totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Twentynine Palms put up the most  points they have all season  on Thursday. They took down Indio 44-25. The game was the first time the Wildcats have beaten the Rajahs on their field since October 5, 2018.

Twentynine Palms found their leader in sophomore  Josh Reynoso, who rushed for 137 yards and a pair of  touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 97 yards and one  TD. Those 137  rushing yards set a new season-high mark for  Reynoso.
 Twentynine Palms was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 373  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.
 Twentynine Palms didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Aaron Haney and  Shad Johnson. Twentynine Palms got some further help from  Wyatt Granger: he made 12 total tackles and defended one pass.
Meanwhile, Coachella Valley made easy work of Yucca Valley  on Friday and carried off  a  55-30 win. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Mighty Arabs.
 Coachella Valley's win came from a few key players Twentynine Palms will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was  Ivan Camargo, who rushed for 272 yards and a pair of  scores while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also picked up 60 receiving yards and one  touchdown. Those  272  rushing yards gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Ivan Garza, who threw for 202 yards and five  TDs on only 13 passes.
 The  victory  got Twentynine Palms back to even at 4-4. As for Coachella Valley, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
 Twentynine Palms took a serious blow against Coachella Valley  in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024, falling  55-18. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of   Camargo, who rushed for 263 yards and four  scores while picking up 15.5 yards per carry, and also picked up 45 receiving yards and one  touchdown. Now that the Wildcats know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
