The Watervliet Panthers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Brandywine Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Watervliet 1.1, Brandywine 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Watervliet's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They skirted past Bridgman 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since March 26th.
Not much got past Cayden Ryan, who gave up just three hits to keep Bridgman off the board. Ryan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caleb Jewell, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.
Meanwhile, Brandywine earned a 4-0 victory over Berrien Springs on Tuesday.
Kaeden Warfield was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Brandywine has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Watervliet, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Watervliet has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Brandywine struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Watervliet couldn't quite finish off Brandywine in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 3-1. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
