Tome got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Wagenknecht out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wagenknecht has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Griffith, who scored eight points along with nine steals and six assists.
Avon Grove Charter lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ayub Massaquoi, who scored 16 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Massaquoi is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph McGinley, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Tome's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Avon Grove Charter, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
Tome will be playing at home against Aquinas Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tome is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61.6 points per game this season. As for Avon Grove Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
