Fairlawn fell victim to Franklin Monroe and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 16-0 to Franklin Monroe. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, Fairlawn's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Amara Dewberry and Avah Roediger did some serious damage despite the final result: Dewberry went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Roediger got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Maddy Miller, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Tri-County North never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Botkins with a sharp 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.
Alyssa Arnett made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Jordan Pinion was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Bella Cherry was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Tri-County North hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.
Fairlawn's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Tri-County North, their record now sits at 14-7.
